The catering within the town is varied. Whilst there are many local Bulgarian style restaurants there are many that cater for different tastes. Pizzas, burgers, pasta meals are all widely available. Although beef is expensive in Bulgaria the pork and chicken dishes are second to none. For the more lively there are a number of late night establishments that offer a heady mix of music and dancing. |

Bansko is ideally situated for those who do not wish to take advantage of the winter skiing. During the spring and summer months the area is warm and sunny. The area is on the edge of a National Park giving an ideal opportunity for hiking (guided or not) bird watching, fishing, quad biking or white water rafting.
Bansko is also only about 15 minutes away from a golf resort.
There are about 250 sunny days a year in Bansko.
The Pirin / Rhodope Mountains Region
Bansko is situated between the Pirin and Rhodope mountains, it is at the foot of the Pirin National Park. The town experiences heavy snow falls from November to April. The ski runs are reached by Gondola up to 1600m and ski lifts to over 2500m. There is reliable snow cover for up to five months of the year and the resort is equipped with numerous snow canons to ensure optimum skiing conditions through the season. There are 70km of pistes with eleven red, eight blue and three black runs. It is possible to ski all the way down to Bansko town, a ski run of sixteen km from the summit. |
